I am once again offering the Breathers graphic novel in a digital reader format for all you people who are in to that sort of thing. And I am selling it for a measly $5. And do you know why? Because I can. That’s why.

Selling original Breathers pages
In an attempt to raise some funds to a) keep the Breathers graphic novel in print and b) afford myself some time to work on my new graphic novel, I have decided to sell the original comic pages from Breathers. Pages start at $80 and go up to $150 and include free shipping. So, get out that tattered copy of Breathers and find yourself a nice-lookin’ page you want to own and follow the link below to order.

The Waiting Sun – now online
Back in 2003, while I was working on my series of Happy Town comics, I also cranked out a self-contained Happy Town spin-off graphic novel called “The Waiting Sun.” I guess the best way to describe it is as a surreal love story. It has been out of print for years now, but I thought I’d resurrect it online for anyone who wants to give it a read. It’s kind of a long story, so I’ll be posting it in chunks. The first chunk can be found HERE.
Long overdue…
So, yeah, it’s been awhile, huh? So, what’s going on? Anything?
Here’s a quick rundown of what I’ve been up to (both comics and non-comics related):
So, I just finished up a weekend at Wizard World Chicago, trying my best to get Breathers into some people’s hands. It went okay. Not the success of the previous year, which was a bit of a disappointment, but, I dunno, I guess the show is sorta losing steam, or something. I did get to spend three long days watching costumed…individuals (I really wanted to write “weirdos”) walking past my table. Fat guys dress up as Mario, skinny guys dress up as Doctor Who. I did not dress up. But I did survive the weekend and sold some (not many) books. I may have to think twice about attending next year. We shall see.
In non-comics news, I now have a son. A 3-month old dude named Lincoln. He is a pretty good sleeper, so he’s alright with me. I now have a daughter and a son and a dog. The perfect family, right?
I have been working on a new comics project, although not as diligently as I would like. It will be a long work, much like BREATHERS, with lots of characters and plot lines. It is called CARBON, which is the name of the city the story takes place in. It’s gonna be about psychics, politics (the corrupt kind, of course), personal relationships and a kidnapped girl. I’m really excited about this book and cannot wait to put pencil to page on this baby. Right now I am working to plot out the entire story, carefully and strategically, to avoid any pitfalls later on. I do not like pitfalls. I will do my best to keep updates coming on the progress of CARBON, so stay tuned.
Minneapolis Indie Xpo
I’m getting myself geared up for the 2nd annual Minneapolis Indie Xpo (MIX), which is taking place November 5-6. I exhibited there last year and it was an all-around good show. Last year it took place in June (or something like that) but now it’s moved to late Fall, so we’ll see if that’s a good thing or not. Either way, I’m looking forward to it, if, for no other reason, than to just get a few days away. I’m working on a bunch of acrylic paintings that I’ll have for sale at the show. For the most part. they’re pretty bad-ass. And, of course, I’ll be pimping Breathers to everyone I can. Should be fun.
Chicago Wizard World report
I had a great time at the Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago this past weekend. I met and chatted with a lot of great people and Breathers was very well-received. Thanks to everyone who came out to the show and stopped by my table and kept me from getting too terribly bored over the three very long days. Sales on the Breathers GN were great and I couldn’t be happier about that. I will definitely be back next year for more.
Next show I’ll be at is the Minneapolis Indie Xpo, which happens the first weekend in November. I’ll be spending the time between now and then trying to get Breathers in to more stores and working on my next GN project, which I am keeping a secret for now. But, I’ll tell you about it soon. I promise.

Breathers on TV?
The Breathers screenplay adaptation (written by Will Wallace & Adrianna McKinley) is a finalist in the Script Pipeline Competition. Out of over 3500 entries, it was chosen as one of the ten best. That’s nothing to sneeze at. Now, Will & Adrianna will get to pitch Breathers to a bunch of important people and, hopefully, we’ll all be watching Breathers on TV of in the theater very soon. Reel Chicago wrote up a little something about this, as well. Read it HERE.
Next stop: HeroesCon
I’ll be exhibiting at Heroes Convention in Charlotte, NC June 3-5. It’s been 3 years since I’ve been to this show, but I remember it having a really laid-back and comfortable feel. I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll have copies of the Breathers GN along, as well as some prints and original art for sale.
And, after the show, it’s family vacation time. We’ll be heading to the NC Coast for some fun in the sun.
MoCCA Fest
This weekend, I will be traveling to NYC for MoCCA Fest. I’ll be armed with copies of the “Breathers” graphic novel, as well as a bunch of art prints and original drawings which I will be more than happy to sell to you. So, if you’re there, make sure to stop by my table and say “hey.”

Here’s where I’ll be:
I’m looking forward to a fun, yet busy weekend in the Big Apple. I plan on eating a lotta pizza pie!
